jag marine air duct cleaning
WHY IS MARINE AIR DUCT CLEANING IMPORTANT?
Breathing dirty indoor air, even in your marine vessel, may make you sick, cause headaches, sinus infections or other respiratory problems.
When marine HVAC systems aboard marine vessels are operating, contaminants within the marine air duct system can be pushed through to the indoor air you breathe.
Marine Air Ducts Before & After Cleaning
Marine air duct systems should be cleaned, if:
- Never cleaned in the past or it has been years since last cleaning.
- Vermin (rodents, insects) known to exist in system.
- An associate has known respiratory problems, frequent headaches or nasal congestion.
- Noticeable odors come out of the registers while system is operating.
- Insufficient air flow is coming out of registers while system is operating.
- Moisture exists within the duct system.
- Inside air is being subjected to tobacco smoke, pet dander, or other known factors that can effect a persons respiratory health.
- Required by your company as a preventative maintenance program.
If contaminants are allowed to accumulate in an a marine HVAC duct system, equipment can be negatively effected.
Contaminants can accumulate in a marine air duct system to a level that restricts proper air flow through out the duct system. This condition can cause components in the marine HVAC system to work harder and longer than they were designed for. Therefore, lowering the operating efficiency and shortening the life expectancy of the equipment. Costing more for operating and maintaining the equipment.

HEPA-AIRE Power Vacuum Marine Air Duct Cleaning Equipment
Marine HVAC duct cleaning with our HEPA-AIRE Portable Power Vacuum System
Our HEPA-AIRE portable power vacuum system allows our technicians to clean your system with state-of-the-art technology that restricts contaminants from being released back into the indoor air supply.
- Cleaning the marine HVAC duct system, using a HEPA-AIRE power vacuum is the most effective way to eliminate air duct pollutants.
- The process begins with connecting the HEPA-AIRE power vacuum system to the duct system.
- Where removable panels are not present, a series of 1” diameter access holes are drilled into the air ducts at respective intervals.
- Contaminants are dislodged from the duct system by systematically inserting air hose into the access holes, progressing from one hole to another, until the branch is clean.
- The HEPA-AIRE power vacuum unit pulls the dislodged debris in to it’s filtration system.
- The vacuum is moved and emptied outside to assure contaminants are not released back into the indoor environment.
- Once the duct system has been cleaned, all panels are replaced and holes are sealed, both can be reused in future cleanings.
- Areas are picked up and returned to a safe, functional working environment.
FACTS
About Indoor Air Quality
- The levels of some hazardous pollutants in indoor air have been found to be up to 70 times greater than in outdoor air (USEPA).
- Most people spend 60-90 percent of their time indoors (American Lung Association).
- One out of six people who suffer from allergies, do so, because of the direct relationship to fungi and bacteria in air duct systems (Total Health and Better Health Magazines).
- 50% of all illnesses are either caused by, or aggravated by, polluted indoor air (American College of Allergies).
- On average, HVAC systems re-circulate air 5-7 times per day.
